We're doing some extensive remodeling on this home to include some structural changes. The homeowners did not like the two white 4x4 posts that were holding up the loft flooring. In order to remove the posts we had to install two LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) beams (a Georgia Pacific product) to handle the long unsupported span of the loft (apprx 22').
In order to accomplish the installation we had to build a temporary wall on the loft to hold the ceiling & another wall on the 1st floor to hold the loft in order to remove the regular 2x10 lumber and install the new LVL engineered product.
